Some trials look at new radiation therapy applications or novel combinations of radiation and medications. At Diablo Valley Oncology / Hematology Medical Group, we are committed to obtaining access to these new treatments for the benefit of our patients. Patients are offered these trials as an option when available, and we are proud of our high quality studies. Because our research corporation, Bay Area Cancer Research Group, is well organized, nimble, and delivers high quality data, the pharmaceutical companies sometimes prefer utilizing our site over universities, such as UCSF and Stanford. In fact, we sometimes get referrals from them to be enrolled in our studies!!

A robust clinical research department is vital for a cancer center to deliver comprehensive cutting edge care. We enroll patients on clinical trials for the gamut of cancers, including breast, lung, colon, pancreas, leukemia and lymphoma, prostate and many others. BACRG enrolls more patients on oncology clinical trials than any other facility in the East Bay, including the hospitals and medical centers. Smaller, less comprehensive physician groups are unable to provide these high complexity treatments outside of a university setting.
