Most clinical trials utilize new drugs, especially the most recent agents, the so-called targeted therapies, to try to improve outcomes in cancer patients. Some trials look at new radiation therapy applications or novel combinations of radiation and medications. At Diablo Valley Oncology / Hematology Medical Group, we are committed to obtaining access to these new treatments for the benefit of our patients. Patients are offered these trials as an option when available, and we are proud of our high quality studies. Because our research corporation, Bay Area Cancer Research Group, is well organized, nimble, and delivers high quality data, the pharmaceutical companies sometimes prefer utilizing our site over universities, such as UCSF and Stanford. In fact, we sometimes get referrals from them to be enrolled in our studies!
